Filmed along the wave-lashed outer coast of Vancouver Island, this short documentary follows marine biologist Dr. Laura White and her crew as they track how plastic from around the world piles up in remote ecosystems.

The story follows a cleanup that removed four tonnes of debris across 53 kilometres of boat-access-only beaches. Much of what they recovered is upcycled into new products.

It is a call to rethink our relationship with plastic, and a reminder that the cycle can still be broken.

From the client

“There’s capturing footage — and then there’s capturing feeling. What [Curtis] created for our ocean conservation project didn’t just show nature; it made people care about it. … The final video has become a cornerstone of our outreach efforts. It’s inspired supporters, educated our community, and brought new energy to our mission.”
