We partnered with Simon Fraser University's Aquatic Research Cooperative (ARC) to share the work happening inside their freshwater research community, and to turn their science and fieldwork into a story that connects people to the ecosystems they rely on.

With a small three-person crew we filmed across British Columbia, from SFU's labs to the wetlands of the Deadman River. Through smoke, rain and chest-deep water, we followed ARC's team as they restored aquatic habitat.

The finished film captures the grit of fieldwork, the strength of the collaboration, and the hope driving the next generation of researchers.

From the client

“[Curtis] exceeded all our expectations and delivered an exceptional film that told people who we are in a beautiful, engaging and simple way. [He] worked with us to cut through all the complexity and tell a compelling story that engaged the audience and directed them towards actions that could support our work. The film is now a key communications tool for introducing ourselves to potential collaborators and funders.”
